ORANGE CHICKEN

 

CHINESE ORANGE CHICKEN

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 lb of chicken
  • 1 Cup water
  • 3 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 3 Tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1.5 Teaspoon Smucker’s Sweet Orange Marmalade
  • 1/4 Teaspoon soy sauce
  • 3 Tablespoon corn starch
  • 1/2 Cup flower
  • 1 Teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 Teaspoon salt
  • 1 Tablespoon cooking oil
  • 8 slices of oranges
  • 1 Cup of chopped lettuce

DIRECTIONS:

STEP 1 – SAUCE

  • In a bowl, add 1/2 Cup water, sugar, white vinegar, Smucker’s sweet orange marmalade, soy sauce, and 1 Tablespoon corn starch
  • Mix together thoroughly and set aside.

STEP 2 – MAKING THE BATTER

  • In a bowl, add flour, 2 Tablespoon of corn starch, baking powder, salt, 1 Tablespoon cooking oil, and 1/2 Cup of water. If it is too thick, add some more water to the batter.

STEP 3 – DEEP FRY THE CHICKEN

  • Deep fry the shrimp at 350 degrees until the pork is golden brown or for around 5 minutes. Once the chicken is cooked, put the chicken on top of the lettuce and sliced oranges and set it aside.

STEP 4 – COOKING THE SAUCE

  • Add the sauce to the wok and let it boil and stir until the sauce becomes thick
  • Add the sauce on top of the chicken
