WONTON SOUP

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 1/2 lb of diced shrimp
  • 1 Teaspoon of white pepper
  • 2.5 Teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon of sesame seed oil
  • 3 Teaspoon of corn starch
  • 2 Eggs
  • 5 cups of chicken broth
  • Few slices of shiitake mushrooms
  • 6 sliced baby bok choy
  • 1/4 Cup diced green onions
  • 30-40 square wonton skins

DIRECTIONS:

STEP 1 – MARINATING THE MEATS

  • In a bowl, add ground pork, diced shrimp. 1/2 Teaspoon of white pepper, 1.5 Teaspoon of salt, sugar, sesame seed oil, corn starch and eggs.
  • Mix them together well.
  • Then wrap 30-40 wontons

STEP 2 – BOILING THE WONTONS

  • In a 6 qt pot add your wontons to boiling water until the wontons are submerged and boil on high heat for 5 minutes. After your wontons are done boiling strain and cool with cold water.
  • add the wontons into a bowl.

STEP 3 – MAKING THE SOUP

  • Add 5 cups of chicken broth (add more if needed)
  • Then add 1 Teaspoon of salt, 1/2 Teaspoon of white pepper, a few slices of shiitake mushrooms and 6 slices of baby bok choy for a 2-3 minutes.
  • Put the soup on top of the wontons
